Please advise - which rank range of grad should I apply to?

Hello everyone!

I know it's meaningless to ask for admission chances. But I really need some advice on which rank range of MSEE grad school to apply.

I'm not looking for specific names, just give me a rank range that I would have a decent chance of getting in (e.g rank10~20, 20~30, etc). By rank, I'm referring to the 2008 USNEWS Electrical Engineering Ranking (<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/engineering-majors/340138-2008-usnews-electrical-engineering-ranking.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/engineering-majors/340138-2008-usnews-electrical-engineering-ranking.html</a>)</p>

Here are my specs:

UCLA EE student, gpa: 3.5 (overall), 3.35 (upper).
GRE: 780Q/530V.
Can get strong recomd from workplace, and so-so recomd from prof.

No research experience. (I've been slacking off, regretting now)

Used to teach at a private sat workshop during my 1st/2nd year in college.
Currently working as a quality engineer for electronic company.

Please advice!
Thanks in advance!

What is your current year in school? If you are a junior, it's not too late to get research experience (although some REU's deadlines are approaching very quickly).

it's my last year already. :(

You got working experience and the big name of UCLA. I guess these would help in getting better ranked schools(say R10-40, but try the best would hurt right?).

Try get a TA with your teaching experience.

Thanks for the reply!

I'm currently considering schools like purdue, upenn, penstate, etc. Hope it'll turn out alright.
