thank you! :)

3.54 is your gt gpa

does that absolutely kill my chances of getting in? i know that the mid 50% is 3.75-4.06…what exactly does that mean? just to clarify

thank you

Well, many Bs and Cs in science classes is not going to help. What were ur AP scores?

I got a 3 in ap chem and ap biology. But the rest of the ap science tests are to be taken this may.
Hey, i got 3.68 when i calculated…but i took into account ALL the courses i took…was i supposed to only take the math and science courses into account?

thank you

Only a .5 for AP courses. And no points for honors.

How does one calculate ones Tech GPA-anybody got a link?

Take out Orchestra and Foundations of Engineering (GT only considers core classes, not music, art, or yearbook classes), then

14 A’s = 56 QP
5 B’s = 15 QP
2 C’s = 4 QP
1 F = 0 QP

Add the QP’s to get an unweighted 75 QP
Total classes = 22
75/22 = 3.40 UW GPA

GT weights only AP, IB, and Dual Enrollment classes as those are the only ones with nationally recognized definitions. Therefore, you receive a +0.5 QP for each AP.

Total Unweighted = 75 QP
10 AP’s = 5 QP
Total GTweighted = 80 QP
Total classes = 22

80/22 = 3.63 GT GPA

Do classes that are required for graduation, like Health, Consumer Education, and Fine Arts, get counted towards the Tech GPA?

would tech use 1st semester senior year grades to recalculate GT gpa?

No. Only Math courses, Science courses, Foreign Languages, English courses, Social Science courses.

Yes. They should ask for them.

^ What if you wont know what your 1st semester grades before the application deadline?

^ good question. I’m not sure but i think they wait until the mid term year reports are mailed. banjo correct me please? ha

If those grades are good, I would send them to Tech when you get them.

I know how it works with ED applicants is that if you’re deferred, they ask for the first semester grades. I believe it’s the same for wait listed RD students.
