Please carefully review common app "versions" before you hit submit

S wanted to update his "original" common app after submitting it to one college. He followed the instructions, chose "replicate" to replicate the original and viola - version 1 was created. He knew he had to upload again the long essay and any additional information he had originally uploaded because the new version automatically drops the uploaded documents. Before submitting the new version, he printed it for a quick review and was surprised that on the activities section, all the check marks for the years when he participated were wiped out but everything else on the acitivities section was there. I know there was no way he could have "accidentally" wiped out all the check marks - that's just way too much work to do to not notice. Just for chucks, I asked him to create another version after he submitted version 1 (you cannot create a new version unless previous versions have been submitted to at least one college), and this time, everything was fine. Lesson learned - go through the printed application with a fine tooth comb before hitting that "submit" button - every single time.

Thanks for the heads up- I would have just assumed that everything was as I had left it.

DD always print and review before hitting the submit button. The one that did not allow this capability, D had to review online. D had a typo. It's hard to review online. Oh well!
