Please chance '09er anxious of looming app. season. She'll love you forever!

Hi everyone. I've been to this forum a few times, but since the common app comes out in a few weeks and school starts for me in early-ish August, I wanted to have a definite college list with smart choices because, well, I want to go to college. Please make suggestions.

I really appreciate your help!

Background info: Female, Vietnamese, first generation, will ask for financial aid, lives in Bay Area, school isn't really competitive, but the top 10% or so of the class is, class of '09

Academics:
GPA: UW: 3.83; W: 4.48+ (depends on how they factor in my college class but it'll probably end up being 4.49); UC GPA: 4.5 (it says 4.57 on my transcript, don't know how that works out because I thought 4.5 was the cutoff)
Rank: currently, 8/500+, but I think I might drop to 10/500+, I'm still in the top 2%

Freshman:
Honors English: B+/B
Honors Geometry: A/B
Academic Spanish (highest avaliable): A/A
Honors Bio: A/A
Honors World History: A/A-
PE: A/A

Sophomore:
Honors English: A-/A-
Honors Spanish: A/A
PE: A/A
Accounting: A/A
Honors Algebra 2: A/A
2nd semester floriculture: A

Junior:
Academic Physics (all academic classes and one AP, couldn't take AP because of scheduling): A/B+ (stupid magnetism test ...)
Ceramics: A/A
AP Lang: A/A-
APUSH: A/A
Honors Trig/PreCalc: B-/B- (obviously, my worst subject, it was more bad test taking habits than my actual knowledge ... my teacher thought it was okay to send me to AP Calc -- he's the teacher for both)
Honors Spanish: A/A
2nd semester German 1 at our JC: A

Senior year classes:
AP Lit
AP Calc
AP Chem
AP Econ/Gov
AP Spanish
Ceramics 2
I MIGHT take German 2 in the fall, but I really don't think I'll be able to spend the extra 6 hours a week with my AP classes and ECs.

Extracurrcilars/Awards (not the best, I'm not a National Merit Finalist or anything, but I'm really devoted to what I do)
Key Club (9-12): VP, Divisional Secretary, Member of the Month, Member of the Year, Vice-President of the Year, currently Lt. Governor (of a division that has 14 clubs that span 150 miles with 70 officers that I'm basically responsible for, so it is a big responsibility), bunch of committees; basically this is my life
Interact Club: (9-12)
online Literary Magazine: (11) co-founder, editor, it died out in the summer because no one is writing, and we might be too busy to restart in the fall ... worth adding in?
JSA (11-12): co-founder, co-president
Math Club (10-12)
Science Symposium (10-12)
Invisible Children (10-12)
Student of the Year in Accounting ... yeah ...
CSF/Honor Roll and all that jazz
Girls State alternate

Scores:
SATs: First try was 1920 (CR 690, M 620, W 610); second try was 2030 (CR 700, M 620, W 710); not retaking because I'm submitting ACT and no time
ACT: First try 30 composite (E 34 w/ 11 essay, M 30, R 32, S 25), taking again this week to raise science, think I'm going to get 32 at least
SAT IIs: taking in October because of test-mix-up last week, taking USH, Math 2, Lit
PSATs: because they show up on my transcript ... bad, 160-180 area both times ... I wonder if I can ask my counselor to take it off ...
APs: Just Lang and APUSH, I don't know yet but I really expect 5's on both.

Application:
Counselor Rec: Really good. She likes me and she was the one to nominate me for Girls State
Teacher recs: AP Lang teacher (really good rec) and Honors/AP Spanish teacher (okay rec)
Third rec: I'm going to ask an adult from Key Club that I've worked with
Essays: I'm really good at essays and I don't "fluff." I think if anything will get me that yes, it will be my essays.
Interviews: I'm taking all the optional alumni ones, plus obviously the required ones. I'm good with interviews too, haha.

Please rank as my "matches/safeties/reaches" so I have a better idea of what I'm getting into. Colleges on my list (please add if you have suggestions):
American
Amherst
Bowdoin
Brown
Colby
Georgetown SFS
Lewis & Clark
Middlebury
Mount Holyoke
Stanford
Wellesley

I'm also applying to some UCs (I'm in Davis and Merced due to ELC), but they're just not where I want to be.

Thank you so much everyone!

Bump for the heck of it.

I guess the thing I'm worried about is that I'm getting a lot of Bs, especially in math/sciences. Do you think something like that will sway adcoms from reach schools like Georgetown and Middlebury to say no, even though I have A's in most of my classes? I know a lot of top students with way better stats than me are applying, so that's why I'm really anxious.

You have a good mix of schools there. Your reaches are reaches for everyone, and will be a tough go. You have safeties in place, though if you really do not want those schools, you may want to look for a good all around early safety. However, I think you will get into a number of your choices.

Thanks cptofthehouse. You've calmed down my nerves a lot. Ahh ... I imagine myself at the end of March and hitting my head against the wall.
