Thank you

when I say my class rank is top 5, i don’t mean percentile, i mean the literal numerical rank. i may even me salutatorian. I’ll find out in September for admission’s purposes.

Alright, i’m probably not the best to do this… seeing as I’m only a sophmore myself, but i would say your chances are very good. I live in RI (actually posting this from the brown campus lolz) and several of my friends have gotten into Brown with much less on their side. I have no idea what the ACT score means (i’m more SAT oriented i guess), but i’m assuming with your other credentials that they are fairly good.
Honestly, if you keep up your good rank and good extras for the 1st half of sr year, i would say you have a 90-95% chance of making brown.

^Bad assessment. Your GPA is good, ACT not great, extracurriculars are fine but nothing stands out. You seem like just another smart, high performing kid. Unfortunately, there are 35,000 of those who apply to Brown every year.

I would say you are a strong applicant compared to the rest of the field, but no one has a 90-95% chance of getting in. If I had to pick a number, I would say 25%. Focus on making your essays quirky, that’s best bet of distinguishing yourself from the thousands of others with the same scores.
