Hi everyone! Just completed my first year at UC Santa Barbara. I'm majoring in Computer Engineering. I've always wanted to go to USC and a few of my friends got in after just 1 yr of college. I didn't apply, but I'm considering applying in the fall for admission for fall of '16. Do you guys think I have a chance? I'd be applying to Computer Engineering or Computer Science or something of that sort. I didn't plan on transferring so my GPA isn't that great, but I have good ECs and solid essays.

Because I'm an Engineering major at UCSB, I had a pretty challenging schedule.

Fall Quarter: Calc 1, Chem 1A, Lab, Computer Science (C Programming), and Writing for Engineers. [17 units]
GPA: 3.03

Winter Quarter: Calc 2, Engineering Physics 1, Technical Research Writing for Engineers, Fundamentals of Logic Circuit Design. [17 units]
GPA: 3.33

Spring Quarter: Linear Alg, Engineering Physics 2 (hardest course I've ever taken due to the Prof), C++ Data Structures, and Anthropology (My first GE!) [17 units]
GPA: 3.13

Current Overall GPA: 3.17

I think I can do really well in the fall (does USC look at winter quarter grades as well?). I think I can get my overall to about a 3.3 if I push for it.

I know this was a lengthy post, but I'd love to go to USC and I was really curious as to whether you guys think I have a chance. Your help is seriously appreciated!
