bump…

Decent ECs, but not as fascinating, great test scores, GPA is great
I say you have good chance for Dartmouth as a ED applicant
however I still think it is some what of a reach since Dartmouth is never easy and there certainly are other applicants just as impressive as you are. But I say you are one of the most likely applicant to be admitted
May I know the classes you have taken?

Class rank will be your big issue at top schools, here’s Dartmouth stats for the 2012’s:

thank you for the responses, but i applied to amherst ED.
i should have kept my dartmouth ED application! i retracted my Dartmouth ED because my guidance counselor and my mother told me that they didnt think it would be right for me. i knew they were wrong!! aw shucks…

btw, if you havent guessed, im korean american.
i would really appreciate if anyone could tell me about my amherst ED chances, dartmouth regular chances, or middlebury regular chances. thank you! bump

bump bump bump!!!

Hello to a fellow Amherst and Middlebury applicant! As of now, I wouldn’t make any guarantees. Amherst, Midd and Dartmouth both attract some of the best applicants in the nation, and while your GPA and SATs would make 90% of this nation’s schools safeties for you, I would still call those three a low reach.

But then again: you know yourself better than any of us do. Expound on your unique qualities in your application (I don’t even know what kumdo is! That definitely sets you apart), including your service work, and you certainly have a chance.

P.S: Have you considered applying for Hamilton? Their undergraduates are mostly white, and from what I hear, they’re looking for a lot more diversity in their student body. (I judged by your ECs that you are Korean; sorry if I’m wrong!) Plus, the school is on par with Midd and Amherst, in my opinion.

I think Dartmouth and Amherst are reaches with your rank.
