You don’t seem to meet their CR+M of 1350 at the moment. A minimum usually means it is a threshold but I would expect people applying are well above.

So I guess SAT score requirements are set in stone…do you think I would be able to get in to any other ba/md programs. I’m also looking into DO programs because the DO approach to medicine definitely appeals to me. Both are recognized as doctors, so I would be happy to get into a DO program as well.

They are not set in stone but if they actually put out there for you to measure yourself, then they do need to be taken seriously.

Is there any reason you can’t retake it and try to score better in those two areas? There is also ACT in September and they are considered different from SAT, i.e., some people tend to do much better on ACT vs SAT.

Most combined programs expect candidates at much higher level than those they admit for undergrad. So you will run into similar issues in those programs unless you review the requirements for each program and compare yourself against the minimum requirements.

I’ll retake the SAT then in October, and hopefully my score will go up. But, I took the SAT in January and i got a 650 in Reading. And then I took the SAT again this past June, after taking a Kaplan course, and I got a 650 again in Reading, so I feel like the best i can do in reading is a 650. Maybe my math score will go up in October…

I was accepted to Hofstra BA/MD. At the interview, everyone I talked to had 1450+ math and critical reading. There were very few seats in in the program (like 6) this year.

I was just notified today that I was selected to be interviewed for the program and I was just wondering how many people are interviewed. At this point, am I competing with hundreds of people or just a handful for one of the 6 seats? Also if you could give me some info on what to expect during the interview (what kind of questions they ask, how long it is, etc.) it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I had the same problem as you with scores! I would seriously recommend taking the ACTs. I took the sat twice and my cr score did not budge, so over the summer I studied for acts and took them twice. I ended up getting a 34 so it worked out for me! Goodluc
