So I'm applying to Emerson early action, and I'm kinda freaking a little bit. I'm really intelligent but I slacked off a ton in high school so my grades aren't as high as they should be. Can someone chance me for Emerson please? I'm going for screenwriting so it's not one of their super competitive programs.

GPA: 90/100 I think that's about a 3.4/3.5 but I'm not 100% sure.
SAT: 2090 total
Verbal: 730
Math: 640
Writing: 720
Rank: 136/560 Top 25%

EDIT: I should also add that I've taken the most rigorous courses my school offers. I'm accelerated in math and science, and I've taken all honors courses throughout high school. I've taken three AP courses which is the most you can take at my school the first three years of high school and I got a 3,4, and 5 on the tests. This year I'm enrolled
in three more AP courses, and 3 dual enrollment college courses.
I, personally, think that my essay is really good. I'm a strong writer and I tried to be unique in it. I wrote about how snowboarding changed my outlook on life which sounds kind of odd, but I think it says a lot about me and has a good message.

My recommendations should be awesome. One of them is my creative writing teacher who's actually an Emerson graduate (which I didn't know when I asked him) and the other is my AP World teacher and everyone raves about her letters of recommendation so that should be good.

I'm pretty involved in extra curriculars, but I haven't held any leadership positions really. I'm a four year letter earner on the varsity swim team, two years of JV crew, 2 years of Model United Nations, National Honor Society, I've taken piano lessons for 10 years, and a ton of other clubs here and there that I'm missing. I have a decent amount of volunteer work but not a ton. I tutored kids in reading in tenth grade, and worked as a volunteer councelor at a swim camp last year, and volunteered at the public library. I have some other hours as well in little things, but those are the two major ones that I've done. I've had three jobs through out high school, two were seasonal and now I'm employed for the full year at a local grocery store.

I'm also a national merit commended scholar if that has an bearing at all.

So what do you think? If you know anything about Ithaca or BU chance me for those as well.
