<p>I would say that all of the reach schools are reaches for anyone. Also, I know Wash U tends to not take some very qualified applicants because they feel that Wash U may not be their first choiceā€¦I donā€™t know itā€™s just what Iā€™ve heard. </p>

<p>And are you a URM? That would really help at Vanderbilt because I know Iā€™m not and thatā€™s probably one of the reasons why I got rejected ED. Otherwise I would consider adding maybe another safety to the list or a match just to be sureā€¦but congrats on UT! Great school for a qualified candidate!</p>

<p>Itā€™s just because the top schools are all a crap shootā€¦everyone is like you so you really donā€™t know what theyā€™re thinking. Iā€™m sure with the number youā€™re applying to you can at least get into one reach at LEAST</p>
