Please Chance me for the following colleges :)

Hi everyone, Im gonna be as detailed as possible in order to get the best results.
Im an American Citizen originally Egyptian, anywho I moved from the US when I was 10 years old and currently reside in Egypt. Ill be going into senior year in a few weeks.

My school offered IB and I took the subjects based on my ambition to get into med school.
Bio HL
Chemistry HL
English HL
Buisness SL
Arabic SL
Math SL

My superscored SAT was 1810.
My predicted grade was 39 without TOK and Extended Essay.
Grade 11 GPA: 3.84

ECs:
Joined MUN for 5 years and have attended 7 conferences.
Play High school Varsity Basketball for 3 years.
Apart of the Yearbook and Newspaper team for 2 years
Played Professional Takewondo for around 9 years and have achieved numerous tournaments.
Been in a Gym Program for a year now.
Been apart of the schools honors society for 8 years now. (anyone with a gpa higher than 3.5 with no Cs)
Been apart of our schools Hayah Helping Hands which essentially is a community service program. Egypt has alot of poor areas so we go on monthly events to help out as much as we can.

To be honest though it hasnt been easy the past few years, I dont know if any of here knows but there was a revolution in Egypt in 2011 and has affected my life in a way alot may never feel. So Im just wondering do colleges even look into the fact that or they dismiss it entirely. Im gonna try to go into the SAT one more time to improve my score and plan on taking the SAT2 in bio, chem, and math.

The college of my dreams is Columbia.
Then I was hoping for Cornell as another reach.
Will also apply to rutgers but I heard I have a good chance at acceptance there.

Oh I used to live in New Jersey so im looking at colleges that are essentially in the east coast only.
Cheers, and Chance away.

I forgot to mention the SAT breakdown is 500 reading 660 math 650 writing
And im from the top 10% of my class.
Second best male student.

I am afraid that as it currently stands you have very little chance of getting into Columbia or Cornell. I suggest you work with your guidance counselor to find schools that are more of a match for you. You should probably not be targeting schools that are in the top twenty because your grades, test scores and EC’s make admission to them highly unlikely. Fortunately, there are plenty of other great schools out there that you will fit in well at. You just need to find them.

Good luck!

Your SATs are way too low for Ivy League schools.

@Falcon1 Minor quibble: OP’s grades aren’t too bad. 39 out of 42 is a very respectable IB prediction-enough, among other things, to make you an average or slightly below-average candidate at Oxford University. With regards to course rigor, Bio and Chemistry HL aren’t exactly gut courses. OP’s grade 11 GPA (I assume he means grade 10, or year 11 as the IB calls it, since his GPA doesn’t match his IB predictions) is very respectable-he lost 2 or 3 points all subjects considered, presumably including design technology and the arts (which many colleges disregard).

@Liveitlight I would actually suggest you consider UK colleges-there are some very good schools there, including Oxbridge but also places like King’s College or UCL. They don’t require SAT scores, and care much less about your extracurriculars. It’s grades that matter-and, with your IB predictions, you’ll have a shot at any university in the country (although at Oxbridge nobody can really be sure they’ll get in).

I hate to say this, but Falcon1 and intparent are correct about the broader point: your SAT scores mean Columbia and Cornell are all but certain rejections, and your ECs aren’t stellar. If your heart’s set on the East Coast, consider schools like Northeastern or test-optional colleges.

An 1810 will make Northeastern a high reach. The OP is not an international applicant because he I a US citizen.

If i manage to pull up my sat to 2000 will it increase my chancee, plus i got 7 in everything except chem6 and english5.

And what exactly should i add more for ECs literally I dedicate all my time into studying and the ecs ive listed

It would increase your chances of getting into Northeastern slightly but not the Ivies. You’ve hit the nail on the head in terms of the problem. Too schools do not want kids who spend all their time studying or devoted to a limited number if EC’s in a limited way. They do not want kids who will stay in their rooms or beat a bath to the library. They want kids who will be actively engaged within the college community - kids who make others around them better for having known them. You are who you are. Try to find schools who will embrace you for who are and you will be most happiest.

My friend had a friend who was an immigrant from a country in Africa and I think she had scores similar to you, and she got into Columbia and a bunch of other Ivies and competitive schools, so I think it can go either way. Definitely consider Rutgers med school, I heard it’s one of the best in the country. Don’t be discouraged though if you don’t get into an Ivy. One of my cousins went to Princeton and he doesn’t have a job and he’s in a ton of debt and another cousin of mine went to William Paterson University and she doesn’t have any debt and she has a really good job (not saying you should go to WPU, just saying that Ivies aren’t the most important thing ever). Best of luck!!
