GPA: 3.2.
SAT1: 2140/2400, 1440/1600
Never took the subject test, but i think umass doesn't care about subject tests.

No Academic Awards except for school awarded honors.
Judo 8 years.
Humanities club 1 year.

Does being a premed lower my chance of getting in by any chance?

Awesome recogmendations from 3 teachers, but umass only wanted one so i sent them the best.
Above average Essay, My bro in Yale MBA said it was pretty good, so i assume it is good.
I was denied by RPI, Amherst college- my first two choices. so please chance me for UMASS- IT'S MY ONLY HOPE.!!

Hey!
Your SATI is good, and I’m not sure how competitive it is to get into Umass Amherst (do you know?)…but yea I’d say your SATI is okay.
Your Judo activity looks really interesting…and could maybe be an attractive point- can you elaborate on what you’ve done in 8 years?
Great that you have “awesome” recs.
Lastly, just wondering, how are you a premed before you’ve even entered college?

i did Judo since i was 11… and yes that makes me 19 years old, but i didn’t fail any thing, i was just injured for one year, and didn’t go to school. I competed in several Judo competitions, that were sometimes held all around the globe like japan. However when i turned 16 i hurt my spine really bad, and messed up my right tricep. Since then i don’t go on any major competitions. However Judo is my passions and i enjoy doing judo as a sport.

The pre-med thing… I think the school asked me if i want to participate in the Pre-med program on the supplemental application… so i am not sure if that is supposed to lower my chances or not.

wow okay…definitely judo is a selling point of your application.
Sorry to hear about you hurting your spine, but delighted to see your passion for the sport.

I’m not sure if being premed will affect your chances, but premed students (like you) tend to be pretty self-motivated, so I’d just say the competition pool might be more intense. Hope that helps.
