My stats are an unweighted GPA of 3. 43 and weighted GPA of 3.89. I will have taken 12 AP courses by the end of senior year. I would have done a lot better in high school but I had a lot of personal problems. I tore my meniscus my Freshman year and it took me a year of recovery for that then immediately after I had a double concussion in my sophomore year. In my junior year I was able to do extremely well and get great grades and I’m looking forward to a great senior year. My SAT super score (I took it 3 times) is Math: 730 Reading: 640 Writing: 660 w/ 8 essay. Total Sat is 2030. SAT Math level 2 = 770. I am taking the act in september and will get probably a 32 or 33. I am also taking the spanish subject test and chemistry subject and am expecting in the 750-770 range for those.

Also I am in many clubs such as FBLA, Future medical professionals, MUN, Debate, Math team, Helping Hands, Writing Center, MESA (Middle Eastern Student Association), and many more

  • High School Soccer (Mostly benched and watching cuz of injuries)
  • Captain of Club Soccer (Top ranked in State)

  • President of Math Honor Society
  • President of Future investors of America
  • Secretary of Science Olympiad
  • Worked at 3 tech startups and built web applications, iPhone applications, and learned about software development
  • Currently working on my own innovation regarding financial projections in a small business environment.
  • Certified or well versed in programming languages including C,Java, Javascript, HTML, CSS, jQuery, Ruby, Rails, etc.
  • Won hackathon with a small team
  • Volunteered over a 110 hours at the VA Medical Center and learned about the medical environment
  • Life Scout just about to become an Eagle Scout

I am going to apply to University of Texas Austin in the college of natural sciences with a first choice major of public health and second choice major of Mathematical sciences

Also which major should I apply to, to increase my chances of getting in.

I dont know my exact class rank but I believe I am in the top quarter

You’ll want to increase your GPA. I’m sure if you mention your injuries in one of your essays, the admissions board understand. Besides the GPA, you’re likely to be accepted just by looking at your rigorous coursework and ECs. Good luck!

GPA is a little low but the great ECs may make up for it! Other than that you should be good!
