I am a high school senior. Can I get into GT?
Location: Maine

Stats:
GPA: Unweighted is 88.5/100, which I believe is a 3.3-4? My weighted is around 99/100. my school doesn't rank. I come from a very elite school in maine.
GT GPA: 3.45
SAT:
CR is 590
M is 730( Will this score put me into the school?)

Taken around 10 honors classes, and doubling up with 2 math classes my senior year so I can take calculas in college as freshman.

EC:
Work @ soup kitchen 60 hours in summer
Captain of football team
Won various sports and academic awards, ie history
Taken a sport every season in my high school career.

Honestly, even your math score is on the low end. Combined w/ being OOS, it's gonna be tough. I'd say you have to be lucky to get in (unless you're URM)

I think you have an OK shot. the fact that your CR score is in the 500s is kind of ~~, but you're going to a tech school, so it probs doesn't matter too much.

If you would sell your soul to get there, maybe first try retaking the SATs? There's still time to register for the December one without paying a late fee.

you probably will get into the school but why? Have you ever visited? I suggest that you do that before you say you REALLY want to go. I wanted to go to Emory until I visited. Most of the kids I know who go to GT hate the school and while it does have a good engineering program, there are much nicer schools. I know of four people who went last year and two are definitely transferring but none of them like it. I had two friends who went last year but, they transferred. Also, there arent really any girls that go there.

I visited the school in june and love it, its the nicest school I've every visited, and with the academics, what do you expect, all colleges will be hard and thats something about this school that isn't a problem for me.

well as long as you are sure, that's great. I hope everything goes wonderfully for you.
And you are right, GT is very hard and it should prepare you for a great career.
