Please chance me, Int'l student, I'll chance back(2nd version)

Chance me for Purdue Main camp, Penn State Main camp, Pepperdine Ohio State Columbus, University of Washington at Seattle, Mid-lower class UCs and Texas A&M......

Around 3.6UW high school GPA from grade 9-11 out of 4.0 system(school don't give credit for taking honors classes, you get same GPA, do universities recalculate your GPA??)

7 Honors classes and 4 AP(taken throughout Gr10-12)

103hrs of community service

Honor Role in Freshmen year( not offered after that, my Semester GPA has always been 3.5+ for Sophomore and junior year.)

According to the US news ranking, the HS I've been in for 3 years is number 1 in my State.

My ACT score is only 22(it sucks, retaking in December, aiming 25+) but Purdue, UofW,Penn State, and possibly Pepperdine and Texas A&M makes it optional for us international students.

102 on TOEFL iBT(88 is minimum for Engineering major)

I was in a pretty terrible school in Canada during Freshmen year so my Grades in that year was like a 3.3 or something bad like that converted to GPA system. My classes during Freshmen year was also very terribly picked due to bad guidance. So I have a good Grade improvement throughout my high school career. (I will include that in my Application if I could)

Good teacher recommendation, Good essay

My Major is Computer Engineering/Science, Financial aids don't matter. I took 4 semesters of Cisco in my school to prepare me for this. AP comp sci is not available in my school but I m currently taking AP Calc

I currently live in US on Visa, Been in US for 2 and half a year and Canada for 3 years. I'm Chinese born but Canadian Citizen.

And like my names says I got 800 SAT Chinese if that matters at all(also speaks 3 languages, Chinese English and Took 3 years of French). Taking Math Level 2 and World History SAT 2 Next month for UCs.

Remember!!!!I took the TOEFL iBT and scored a 103(80 min is required for applying all the colleges above and 88 is for engineering. 103 is relatively high. Ivies only require 100) So SAT and ACT is optional, though recommended(obviously)for me IN Purdue, UofW,Penn State, and possibly Pepperdine and Texas A&M. Because I already approved my English skill with TOEFL.

Thank you. Best Regards

Thank you for the reply!!!But did you consider in that I DO NOT have to submit ACT/SAT?

Need more chances!

Please read carefully with this! This is one of the most important part in this whole thread!

“Remember!!!I took the TOEFL iBT and scored a 103(80 min is required for applying all the colleges above and 88 is for engineering. 103 is relatively high.
I don’t know how that affects you. If you have a 3.6UW, I think that makes you a match/high match at all of these unis (If they assume a good ACT/SAT)

I’m also confused but a friend of mine two years ago got into PennState w/o taking SAT/ACT!

Please carefully read the following, this is really important to me:
quoted from UofW

"MINIMUM TEST SCORE REQUIRED BEFORE ADMISSION TO UW SEATTLE
Test Score Requirement Before Admission Test Title Minimum Score Before Admission
TOEFL Internet-based 76
TOEFL computer-based 207
TOEFL paper-based 540
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) 6.0

SAT or ACT Scores. Although the SAT and ACT are not required for international student applicants, the University will consider the English proficiency requirement satisfied if you have achieved academic success in English writing or literature courses and have a minimum SAT critical reading score of 550 or an ACT English score of 22. Official SAT or ACT scores must be sent directly from the testing organization. School copies or student copies will not be accepted to satisfy this requirement."

and Penn

"Standardized Tests

SAT or ACT

The SAT or ACT is required if your native language is English, or if you are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. It is optional if your native language is not English and not required if you have completed a year of post-secondary course work. Please visit The College Board or ACT, Inc. to arrange to take the exam.

The code for Penn State that should be listed on the registration form for the SAT is 2660 and for the ACT is 3656. Generally, U.S. embassies and U.S. Information Service (USIS) offices have information on testing dates and places. Please request that your SAT or ACT test scores be sent directly to us.

English Language Proficiency

International Students whose native language is not English must submit proof of English language proficiency. The following are ways in which you can satisfy the language proficiency requirement:

A minimum TOEFL score of 80 on the Internet-based TOEFL or 550 on the paper exam (score reports must be official and cannot be more than two years old);

A minimum IELTS score of 6.5 on the academic test;

SAT score of 530 or higher on the critical reading section;

IGCSE score of A, B, or C on the English language exam, or;

IB score of 5 or higher on the English A 1 or 2 exam.

Applicants who have been in a U.S. college or university and have completed two years of full-time academic course work and have a grade of C (2.0) or higher in a standard English composition course will also meet the language proficiency requirement.
Financial Information"

Also, I don’t need any financial aids if they don’t offer. Dunno if that increases my chances.

Thank you for taking your time!Need More chances!

id say you have a good shot at all of these schools, but if you can get your act up it will greatly improve your chances.

Thank you for responding. Bascially I’m relying on my GPA right now. ACT is kind of low I know. I’m going to studying for 2 weeks before next test.

Need more chances!

bump, need more chances

Did you get into Purdue without SAT!?
