Please Chance Me? (low gpa)

Hey, this is my first time doing this so I'll give all the info I can.

26 ACT, did not do the SAT.

32 English, 25 math, 25 science, 23 reading

I have some volunteer work and career oriented volunteering on my application.
I feel like my essays are very well written.

Now here comes the impressive part... 2.78 GPA unweighted out of 4.0.

I know that my GPA effects the types of colleges I can go to, so I used the "what are my chances" calculator and found that I might be able to get into the following colleges (I've applied to all of them):

-University of Illinois at Chicago
-Ohio State University
-Bradley University
-Miami University (Oxford, OH)
-Valparaiso University (IN)
-University of Illinois at Urbana-champaign

So, what do you think? Is there still a glimmer of hope?

I am unsure about the other schools but coming from Chicago I could tell you this:

If you’re thinking about UIC medical/honors program, it might be a little bit of a stretch (but not impossible!).
If you’re thinking about UIUC engineering, it will be a high reach for you.

Also, where are you from? Urbana accepts essentially all “average” people from the Chicagoland area (although they’re thrown in to their general studies program if they don’t meet the requirements).

Perhaps you could tell me what these career-oriented volunteerings are?

Sure, Well I’m in a suburb of Chicago. I do hope to go into engineering, but not necessarily at just UIUC. My career-oriented volunteer work was mostly at an electronics company where I learned how to do some basic programming and inventory counting.

You can probably get accepted into UIC LAS but probably not College of Engineering. Engineering has the highest averages of all the colleges. For Engineering, you ACT is fine, but your GPA is very poor. UIC places more weight on grades. You could potentially transfer into the college after 1-2 semesters.
You do not meet the minimum requirements for the Honors program at UIC. You need at least an ACT of 28 and be in the top 15% of class. You have no chance at UIUC.
