Please chance me on good west coast schools(predominantly) & ivies?

Ivy schools are obviously my reaches... Looking at USC, Berkeley, and UCLA and some other schools at the end of this long post haha. It's not on the west coast, but I am also considering the US Naval academy. CalTech and Stanford are reach schools as well as ivy league schools as i mentioned previously. Here's my info:

Will it look bad that i was on two varsity sports teams as a freshmen but then stopped doing the sports?

I'm planning on majoring in physics; I would also like to go on to graduate school after undergrad to become an astrophysicist.

Please chance me! Also, any other school suggestions would be super great!

USC:
Berkeley:
UCLA:
USNA:
Caltech:
Stanford:
Harvard (lollll):
Cornell:
MIT:
Columbia:
Princeton:
Yale:

ok cooollll.

Also I'll definitely chance you back if you want! :)

Your stats are a lower than average and your ECs appear to be very typical for applicants to the top schools. You need a 32 at least on your ACTs to have a better chance at most of those schools.
HYPSMC - higher reaches
Cornell, Caltech, USNC - lower reaches
USC, LA, Cal - matches at 30 ACT or higher

@BuBBLESFoRSALE thanks so much for replying! I’ll definitely be working on my act/sat scores these months.

For every student, even those getting 2400s and 2300s and perfect or near perfect grades, an IVY school should be considered a reach. Always.

I would not list the two sports you quit on your apps.

@tutordhaus i’m definitely not “qualified” for even considering applying to Ivies (as of yet), but it was fun just trying to get a gauge of the whole thing. Thank you for the advice!!

@missouriboy thanks so much for telling me that! going to take those off commonapp right now

Wait why are you already on the commonly of you’re a junior?

Also I would agree with the other posters above me. I think as of right now they are all reaches. It might take more than just a 30 on the ACT to make USC at match. They are pretty selective. For now all reached. That may change by your senior year though.

Sorry for triple posting but could you please chance me back?

I’d say your chance is better than most at Cornell’s CoE and at MIT pretty much because being a girl interested in physics is an advantage! However, it’s difficult to chance you without SAT/ACT/AP Scores.

I also disagree with missouriboy, two sports for a year look better than no sports at all…

Also, you should stop filling out your common app, it’ll be deleted anyways when the new common app opens next summer.

@picklechicken37 @truust I’m applying to a couple schools as a junior (honestly more for the experience than to get accepted but they are safe schools for sure). What are some pros and cons of listing or not listing the sports? And yes I’ll chance you back right now!:)

sorry i’m new at this site can you link me your chance thread?
