Can you please chance me institutions listed above

UPenn-seems tough. Same problem I am having. Solid applicant for the most part so chances are good but that puts you in the normal applicant pool with an acceptance of under 10%. So it certainly is possible but never have high hopes for these school.

Emory- Don’t know about the school specifically or about their Med program but I know students with far worse applications that have gotten in so from what I know it seems likely you get in.

–Feel the same for the rest as I did with Emory except for maybe Duke which is currently ranked in the top 10 and has ad admission rate of around 10%. I have seen people get into Harvard and Yale and get rejected from Duke so it seems hit or miss.

Again, I know you asked for my opinion on my thread but keep in mind I am not the best person here to chance. It appears you are good enough but my experience is limited, so don’t take my word for gospel.

UPenn: Reach
Duke: Reach
Notre Dame: Reach
Emory: Match
Penn State: Safety

I don’t know much about UPenn, but I just visited Notre Dame, and I from what they said it looked like a match/high match for me, so it should be a match for you. Duke is definitely a reach, as they are a prestigious science/ research university. With a 4.17 GPA, I would think Emory would also be a match, as I know a guy at my school who got around a 3.5 with high test scores and is going there next year.

Ok thank you all for your reply’s all of these colleges are on my list because of their great pre-med majors

The early DECISION for these schools are
UPenn: 25%
Duke: 30%
Emory: 49%
EARLY ACTION
Notre Dame:42% (EARLY ACTION)
Penn State: IDK

What college should I go Early Decision?

I updated this with a new post :)

UPenn and Duke seem like pretty serious reaches with those test scores; your EC’s are great and will get you in the door, but your numbers have to get you on the table to begin with. I would say you have a good chance at Emory (probably mid/high match) and Notre Dame (high match? The valedictorian and salutatorian from my (generally pretty unassuming) high school got in last year with 2200-range SAT’s). Penn State is your safety, clearly, you will walk in there, especially with state residency. Retake your SAT; for top schools, “at least a 700 in each section” is generally quoted as the law of the land.
For Early Decision, you should choose the school you believe would be the best fit, or that you want to attend the most.

^^Please reply to this when you have a chance! PLEASE :D

University of Pennsylvania: Its a reach a mid one just because of its general selectivity but you may ave a chance because of your pre-med interest and ECs
Emory University: Match
Duke University: they love research programs and commitments like that. would be a reach
University of Notre Dame: Reach
Penn State University: Match

Boston University (will try 7 year program)
New York University (will try 7 year program)

^^^the 7 year programs are in all extremely selective so they would be reaches. But the actual universities them selves shouldn’t be a problem

UPenn: Reach
Duke: High reach
Notre Dame: Reach
Emory: Match
Penn State: Safety
