Nice. I think you will get into at least one of HYPS, and definitely Wharton. The only thing that bothers me is that you seem to be stretching yourself rather thinly. Sometimes less is more, just a thought.

Didn't you already get a likely letter to Yale?

riiiiiiiiight..

Thanks for the chances everyone. And the stats are accurate to those non-believers :p

I love how jealous some people can get :p. Wish everyone the best of luck in their admissions. I'm asking for chances, because I have no major hook like uber athlete and intel finalist. If anyone else would like to chance: thank you. I don't mine constructive criticism regarding my application but idiot/raving lunatic remarks=worthless= Yossier=don't bother posting=get a life because you need one. Thanks!

Hmmm...looking back through this thread, I see that you did indeed get a likely letter from Yale. So why are you asking for chances there?

As for the other schools -- you should have a decent idea of what to expect from Harvard and Princeton if your application is strong enough to get you a likely letter from a comparable school: acceptance.

On the other hand, I have to agree with amb3r's assessment of your resume. I don't see anything that stands out. Your activities are, as amb3r noted, "all over the place," and there isn't any factor unifying them. In addition, you don't seem to have many significant awards/national recognition. I admit I'm surprised that Yale has given you the thumbs-up already.

But what do I know? Perhaps your essay were particularly amazing. If so, they were probably what clinched your spot at Yale, and what will probably get you accepted to the other schools on your list as well.

Well he created this thread before receiving the likely letter. OP's gonna get into all those schools, only the top applicants who would be accepted at every other competitive institution in America get likely letters to Yale. Get ready to make some tough decisions. No more talking about how impressive his profile is or how he manages to do it. No more chances for you OP.

How did the OP get a likely letter to Yale? He's not an athletic recruit and didn't win the Olympiads .. what was the hook? I don't see anything on his app that at least a hundred other Yale applicants haven't done too.

Does it honestly matter? Assuming he's not BSing, which would just hurt him, he's one of the strongest college applicants in the nation and I would bet my money he'd be admitted everywhere else, as do virtually all Yale likely letter receivers.

Thanks guys. I kept some stats private as well. They were probably the deciding factors. Although I did hear from admissions that my essay was outstanding. Thanks everyone :) . Just out of curiosity, someone who gets a likely letter from Yale will have a pretty good chance of getting accepted to another ivy RD even if they don't get another likely letter from another ivy?

Well...yeah. You probably got the likely letter because you have qualities highly desirable not only at Yale, but at all the top schools.

I'm curious. Why did you keep some stats private? Are they big awards that would identify you?

There is no reason for you to post here. Let's not kid around here--you know what your chances are.

"I don't really think you need more chances haha. What are you going to learn from more people praising you for being perfect?"

I agree with this statement made earlier. Reading this thread was kind of annoying, what the OP constantly asking his chances and all. It's as if you are in a restaurant and you order the never-ending-stack-of-pancakes saying, "Keep it coming." Do you need the pancakes? Probably not. But do you enjoy the feeling they give you? Apparently yes. Come on. It's great to sound intelligent, it seems that you are, but please do not pride yourself too much in it. Arrogance is an attribute that I hate to see in people who have such a promising future ahead of them. It's one of those things that people are repelled by.

I do not intend to criticize (sorry for the somewhat crude analogy - I am just really in the mood for pancakes). I honestly just want you to see something about yourself that I am not sure you understand is actually there. Good luck in where you are headed, truly. And I can say for the billionth time that you WILL get into a HYPSMW or wherever :) I think that you should just take pride in the fact that you felt confident enough to even apply there. Rest assured you will be happy wherever you go. Once again, good luck :)

Thanks. :). Best of luck everyone this year.

uh...
sorry, but i don't see how you stand out so much as to get a likely letter...i mean a lot of ppl have stats like urs.....not to say taht they're not very good, but they're certainly not like intel finalist, IMO medalist, D1 athlete etc...

^^^ I have to assume that the reason he received a likely letter from Yale is that he has won extra awards that he hasn't listed here because they are too specific/prestigious and might identify him, if he wants to maintain anonymity. Otherwise, if he's given us all the relevant info already, then I dunno how it happened. Either way, good luck with the rest of your applications.

who cares if you do? you're not the admissions officers so saying things like that are only going to hurt the OP's feelings even if you did start your insult with, "sorry." anyways, the things that you listed are not as important as the fact that the OP did all that he did while WORKING!

I think the work part helped my application. :) .

How is your school's relationship with these top colleges and universities? Has it sent many to these colleges in the past? That might affect you a bit admissions-wise...

AY8888, let's turn the tables. Assuming you get into Yale (a given evidently?), Harvard, Princeton and Wharton, all 4, which one are you gonna pick? Which do you like best?
