Cumulative gpa of first three years: 3.22 (unweighted)
However I feel there has been a significant upward trend in my grades:
(UW=Unweighted)
Freshman (3.0 UW)- mostly B's and one C
Sophomore (3.17 UW)- Mostly B+'s, one C+, one A-
Junior (3.33 UW)- three A-'s, two B's, one B+
Senior Year Quarter 1 (3.7 UW)- two A+'s, one A, three B+'s

What are my chances based on just that info?

(edit: other info= Applied priority, currently attend a private "prep" high school)

GPA is ehh but your SAT scores are strong and should make up for it. May come down to your recs or ECs whether or not you get in regular or freshman connection. Best of luck!

GPA isn’t great, but your SAT scores are solid and the upward trend is definitely a good thing. If you took a rigorous schedule and have good ECs and essays, you should have a chance.

Maryland loves to accept out of state students as they get much more money that way. This is a business as much as it is an institution of higher learning.

Out of state students can get accepted with much lower GPA’s than instate students. Example a student from Cary, NC was accepted for fall admission with a 2.6 unweighted gpa. No they were not an athlete or had any special talents.

The acceptance rate for out of state for College Park is posted online in many different websites. Generally it states 35%, it has been much higher since 2005, again it is all about the $.

Given schools in NC have only about a 12% out of state acceptance. Maryland’s is quite high.
