Recs: Probably a great one from the math team teacher, since hes been heading the team for something like 18 years and he's never had anyone do close to as well as I have. Hopefully something good from the physics teacher as well, because hes new working on an emergencey teachers license or something like that, and I've helped him out with the class (also only one from our school to place at the physics contest we went to). Other teachers and counselors like me too.

I'm looking at:
Cornell
Duke
Georgia Tech
MIT
Northwestern
Rice
Stanford
Vanderbilt

For the in-state schools national merit finalist= full ride+laptop+goodies, which is pretty tempting really

Thanks everyone!

Weak EC’s but amazing test scores. I’d say this…
Cornell- low reach
Duke- low reach
Georgia Tech- MATCH
MIT- mid-reach
Northwestern- high MATCH
Rice- MATCH
Stanford- mid reach
Vanderbilt- high MATCH

Scores are maxed out, but other stuff are not. Sounds like your rank isn’t too high either, since you say GPA is not so great. To get into top schools even having EVERYTHING, gpa, rank, scores, EC’s, is not enough. Write a great essay and apply EA/ED to somewhere will improve your chances too! Chance me~!

great scores… and you’ll most likely be national merit finalist. congrats!

Cornell - low reach
Duke - high match/low reach (they love great test scores like you have)
Georgia Tech - low match
MIT - reach (you seem like a very typical applicant for MIT and they always have great applicants – definitely a good shot though)
Northwestern - match
Rice - match
Stanford - reach
Vanderbilt - match

Don’t send your SAT reasoning test score. It will be a disadvantage compared to your perfect ACT score. I suggest send only ACT score
