What are my chances at top schools?

Hello, I am a Junior in Alabama right now. Here are some stats on me:

SAT: 2150/2400 1st try (2nd try should be around ~2300 to match PSAT)
SAT II Predictions: Math II: 800
Physics: 750+
Chemistry: 750+
History: 700's
ACT: Don't have them back yet but I got a 36 on the PLAN so hopefully ~34+
National Merit Semifinalist (I definitely will make the cutoff since I'm above last year's cutoff by a good amount)
GPA UW: ~3.7 *(My school doesn't do unweighted GPA but this is what I calculated)
GPA W: 4.35
Top 10% of class
Russian/Jewish Male
1st Gen
Competitive School
EC: Published Physics Research (Presented at Photonics West), Math Team (Mu Alpha Theta), AIME qualifier, BBYO officer, National Honor Society, some volunteering, I work on cars/autocross
Great recs, good essays

My physics research should be pretty unique because I know I'm the youngest SPIE (International Society for Optical Engineering) member ever to make such a presentation (16 years old). Hopefully I will have another published work completed by Summer 2007 in the same manner.

What are my chances at top universities like:

1) Stanford
2) U Penn
3) Colombia
4) Yale
5) Duke
6) Cornell
7) Wash U
8) Vanderbilt
9) Rice
10) Emory

Thanks for reading all of this!

you have got a great shot...the "SPIE" thing should help you alot and if your act turns out something around 34, and your sat 2300+ your definitly in at most of these colleges...for Stanford work hard on your essays..good luck!

If you really get a 34:
1) Stanford - good chance
2) U Penn-in
3) Colombia-great chance
4) Yale -good chance
5) Duke-in
6) Cornell-in
7) Wash U-in possibly with good $
8) Vanderbilt-in with $
9) Rice-in with $
10) Emory-in with $

check the rank though, if ur ONLY top 10%, ur chances r significantly lower than what the people on this board have posted whether u get a 2300 or not bc the 5-10% rate of acceptances r significantly lower unless ur school is gifted

I'm not sure what you mean by gifted school--do you mean an exclusive magnet school?

I go to a public high school but it is ranked at the top nationally. We have one of the strongest math teams in the nation (for a public school).

I'm not sure of my actual rank because that information will not be released to me until the end of this year.

Bump bump bump

I'm sure someone has something to add here...more opinions please!

Thread bump

Anyone out there?
Bump

Bump guys, anyone??

Amazing EC's... great shot at all of those schools as long as you score above 30 on ACT

Just to add my courses to see if that helps with the chancing.

Weight Training

About my 12th Grade schedule, will it hurt that I have a non academic class such as weight training?

Due to a marching band loophole, I'm not actually required to take it for my PE credit but the only other viable choice I had was to forfeit my 1/2 period of lunch to take AP Biology in addition to AP Physics. I did not want to do this as I have not had a 1/2 lunch period since the 9th grade because of my crazy schedule.

Please continue to chance!

Update: My ACT scores came back and I got a 32. I'm not very satisfied so I'm going to actually prep for my second try and really aim for a 34+ (hopefully 35-36).

Bump, new information

1) Stanford: low reach
2) U Penn: high match
3) Colombia: low reach
4) Yale: reach [only because they are a reach for everyone]
5) Duke: match
6) Cornell: match
7) Wash U: match, but they're weird... if you don't show interest, then they just waitlist you...
8) Vanderbilt: low match
9) Rice: match
10) Emory: low match
