Prompt: Is it more important to do work that one finds fulfilling or work that pays well? Plan and write an essay in which you develop your point of view on this issue. Support your position with reasoning and examples taken from your reading, studies, experience, or observations.
Money is a very significant factor that one needs in order to live. It is more important to do work that pays well because money is essential to live. Without money, people cannot get essential sources and their status in society will decrease.
Doing work that pays well can make people get more money. For example the average income of a lawyer is $260,000 an year. This is enough to buy food, shelter, and other essential resources that are needed in everyday lives. If there are more luxuries, life will be much happier. People will not have financial tension like debt and loans. By doing work that pays well one’s life will be cleared of many financial hardships.
In addition, one’s status in the society will decrease if they do low-paid jobs. The concept of social class is apparent in every society, because it is something that happens when there is money, industry and capitalism. Status is a level of income and power one has. The higher social class means more money and more power so better opportunities and a different lifestyle than those who are in lower social class. Lower social classes do not have means or the power to make their lives similar to higher classes. People can also be treated differently if their status is low because many do not give importance to the lower-class people.
It is more important to do work that pays well because money is essential to live. By doing well-paid jobs, people can get the essential resources needed, and their status will be higher. There will be more luxuries and more opportunities for power if one does a well-paid job. Money is not the only thing you need, but it’s very significant in everyone’s lives because without it the world will not work.

I think the thesis here is just really weak… you state money is essential to life because without it your social status decreases? I don’t see how that follows. Also, that “life with luxuries make your happier”…

I can’t tell if you’re joking or not. If this a college essay… you might wanna try something else

I feel like you could take your analysis a little deeper. I agree with what novafan said above, and in addition I feel like your generalizations seems almost shallow at times. If this is a college essay, I’d advise you to not write this in such an FRQ style, but instead take some creative liberties to make your essay stand out!

Don’t state the obvious (your entire first paragraph). Instead of speaking very generally, talk about yourself-- why is money more important than a fulfilling job to you? Make sure that you explicitly state your opinion and back it up with statements that are insightful and draw on your own experience, readings, etc. Give examples.

This needs a lot of work if you’d like it to be attention-grabbing and interesting. I’d suggest taking it to your English teacher or someone else who’s qualified to do an in-depth edit with you. Good luck!
