Assignment: Is the world changing for the better?

As we advance through this technological age we are faced with new problems such as global warming and environmental damage. I believe the world is not changing for the better. Everyday the ozone layer is constantly begin damaged by cars and factories. As our population rises both our need for homes and resources increase destroying natural habitats and natural food sources.
Todays preferred travel method is using vehicles. Most cars requires gas which directly damages the ozone layer which allows more short length waves to enter earth and letting long wave radiation to stay longer. This causes an increase of temperature. This change is not good for our world causing the Polar Ice Caps to melt at an increased rate. This in turn destroys natural habitat for Polar Bears causing them to be near extinction. Global warming has caused extreme droughts destroying crops and hurting major farming communities. Because of melting glaciers it has altered the geology of earth, causing tsunamis, earthquakes, avalanches and other disasters.
Today there are about 7 billion people on this planet. This number is steadily growing this means we need more resources and homes to support us. We need to clear good farmland, forests and rainforests to suit our needs. This destroys the natural habitats of many animals completely changing an ecozone. This is definitely not good for our world this means less clean air for our world causing people to breathe in potentially harmful smog. Our constant demand for wood has demolished many forests causing natural habitats to be destroyed. Panda Bears were once a common animal the national animal of China. Due to forest destruction and the growing demand for bamboo Panda Bears were left with almost no food and no shelter. If this continues many other animals will follow the fate of the Panda Bears.
On the outside our world seems is getting better with technological advancements but its whats on the inside. Global warming is cause natural disasters devastating many parts of our world. Our animals natural habitats are being demolished due to our growing needs. From these reasons, do you really think our world is changing for the better? I believe no our world is not changing for the better.
