I wonder if anyone could help grade my SAT eassy on a scale from 1 to 12 . All advice is welcome . Thanks in advance everybody .
Assignment : It is always essential to tell the truth or are there circumstances in which it is better to lie ?
There is an old proverb :" A white lie mean you no harm ". And this is true beacause the truth, in some degrees, packs more pain than a well-meaning lie. Taken this in our hustle environment, the tendency to lie can help us to become blissfully ignorant.
For most people, lying has proved to be a " temporarily safe ticket " out of most troubles. People call upon it as they will, manipulate it like those con-artists. Is it better to lie ? Yes, it is certainly better for us to do so. Ironically, mankind has pushed lie to the very limit. Although people can evoke in minute what hadn't happened, they stumble for hours to tell the straight truth. They seek comfort in lie and greatly disdain the uneasiness in the truth. It's purely intrinsic. Some would argue :" The truth will set you free". But those who lie have already extricated themself from entanglements, or they led themself to think so. Man will try, sometimes in vain, to relief the dissonance they felt by trusting in the lie. So yes, people feel better, in some circumstances, to lie and live in that disillusion.
But for other people, the one we are feeding our lie to, is it better for them to be decieved.Apparently, it is. Doctors do this all the time. Facing a hopeless case, they would dress themself in a most twisted manners, shielding away the discomfort of reality, force a grin and say :" Your condition is getting better. You will be all right in no time " And these patients, under the authoritative impression, believe so. They would spend their last day living happily. And why shouldn't they deserve to be happy ? In those final days, i consider it a right for them to hear lie. Lie helps them, even for only a short moment, These patients are contend.
After all, people will usually say :" It is for your own good " as lie help you to be ignorant, and as stated above, ignorant is certainly a bliss. Lie works, In this deceptive world where misfortune plagues every corner, lie works just fine .
I did time myself, and it took approximately 23 minutes to write this down.
