I really want to get my fsu card when I go to preview tomorrow. I was under the impression I only had to pay my admission deposit (which I have) to be able to get my card at preview. When I called, the lady said to make sure to pay my admission deposit and my orientation fee. I thought that was fine until I realized I have NO money and and my mom is not sure which dates she can ask off for. Now it's too late to call and my preview is tomorrow and I'm really frustrated.

Do I have to pay for orientation before I can get my card?
Has anyone else gotten their card at preview w/o paying for orientation?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Also: My mom won't be at preview with me, can I still get my fsu card without her?

Since it is tomorrow and you're going to Preview anyway I would try and get your FSU id card regardless.

You could also ask officials at Preview, but I'd still try.

Ok, so I'm at FSU right now :] and the good news is that I was able to get my FSU ID and preview was great, and that it's a lot of fun being back here.

For future reference, anyone going to preview that wants to get their FSU ID must pay for the admissions deposit, and sign up for an orientation date and pay for orientation. So EVERYTHING must be paid off before you get your ID. But they make it easy, and for anyone who isn't completely paid off, they have a room set up where you can pay everything, cash/credit/check right away. You'll get a receipt and then go to the FSU card center.

Glad to hear everything went well at preview and you are all set up with your FSUID now!

mc - must feel great to have an official ID!
SO... how else are you spending your preview day? did you go see any of the dorms? (i think i heard they are open for preview)

For the rest of my time there, I went and visited one of my friends.
Yes, the dorms were open for tours, which was REALLY helpful. I made my final decisions on my top 4 thanks to that. I toured Landis, Broward, Bryan, Degraff, and Gilchrist.
We were able to seen in rooms students were currently living in,

Degraff was new and very clean, the rooms were reasonably big. It looked a lot like a hotel inside. They were nice.
Landis was also very nice. It was my favorite.
All of the 5 I went in were good, I'd recommend them all.

And the rooms weren't as small as I was expecting.

sounds great - what made landis your fav?

^I'd wager 4 reasons persuaded mcooper:

^That would be correct :}

For freshmen the renovated east-side dorms are highly desirable. For anyone wanting to live off campus and needing a car...well, please stroll through any on-campus parking garage first.
