Please Help!! CC almost done with

hi,

I would like to say thank you for taking the time to open this and read it.
just signed up on this forum to ask for some help and any response is greatly appreciated thanks again....

Ok, so here's my situation
my transcript is not looking so hot after three semesters at my local community college.. My gpa. is just above 2.5 around 2.7 or so...

My grades are a follows:

1st semester straight F's

2 years later : I have decides to go back to school

semester 1 AAAC retried 2 classes got as in those and got a B for the summer
semester 2 CCCD
semester 3 CACC
cum:36 hrs so far

Also, my community college granted me a forgivness policy for first semester the one with straight F's so it's not factored into my gpa.. (although some school still average this in with my gpa as I was told by admissions) U of I averages , depaul accepts the forgivness

So I have 1 semester left..

so my question is how good of a chance do I have to get into a decent undergrad school...
I live in Illinois and would like to be accepted into depaul or ISU or and decent school really

I would really like to go into the direction of premed I understand that my grades are terrible compared to most but I haven't really applied myself and didn't focus on school as much as I should have. blah blah blah...

So I have one more semester and was wondering if anyone on here ever had the same problem or can give me a serious idea of what to expect.

also, I was told that ur undergrad grades take precedence over your community college grades is this true??

thanks again for reading,
Hope to hear from you

Decent unis require minumum 3.0 transfer GPA. Your best bet is your state uni system. They are required to take state CC transfers and thus have lower requirements. Also, look into taking classes in which you tend to do well (for example, if you’re getting C’s in math and science, maybe you should take classes in something like Art or History).

I have a more serious question for you…if you’re still not applying yourself and getting Cs, why are you considering transferring already? Would it not make more sense to spend another year at your community college and really buckle down? I tend to think that if you transfer now, it’s going to be a disaster for you. The work is only to get harder and harder, and you’re just scraping by as it is.

And also, your community college grades are part of your undergraduate grades. Do you mean your upper-level undergraduate grades?
