Hello,
I have a low unweighted GPA of 3.26, but my weighted is 3.88. My class isn’t ranked, but I do go to a magnet school so it’s pretty competitive. A lot of my classes are college classes as well so I have over 50 credits and it really helped boost my GPA.
I have some EC’s like coding websites, learning a new language, managing my own blog, church, piano, game development, and this tutoring club at school where I tutor elementary kids twice a week. Also, I went to a coding web development camp last summer and a different one this summer if that helps. I plan on majoring in Cognitive Science and I live in California so I’m gonna be applying to some CSU’s, UC’s, and a couple out of state schools like UCONN and NYU. However, I’m having trouble finding what schools could be considered a safety and match for me so some help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a budget?
Do you have any hooks?
Are you a good writer?
Any major achievements?
-My budget is 30k at its max.
-I’m not sure what constitutes as a hook, but I’d say I have some unique hobbies that might help me stand out a bit (?)
-Not the best writer quite honestly, but I did recently get 1st place in this writing contest
-Again, I’m not sure what constitutes a “major achievement” for colleges, but for me, it was winning first place at my first hackathon because I was a beginner and competing against like 300 people. Another was winning first place in the writing contest since throughout my life, I’ve had teachers, and even a professor say my writing was pretty all over the place, but I’d say it has gotten a lot better.
