@“aunt bea” I am aware that I would be paying out of state tuition if I go to SDSU. However compared to other out of state public schools, SDSU is not nearly as expensive. Another choice for me was University of Illinois @ Urbana-Champaign. However, tuition was almost $50,000 per year and I figured that was way too much. Additionally, if I go to SDSU, I will be coming in with about 20 credits because of AP tests. This will lower the cost of tuition and will get some gen. ed. classes out of the way. Additionally, SDSU has its own scholarship database. These scholarships could also help to lower the cost of tuition.
I am not sure about transportation. That is a long ways from now, but I am sure I would be able to get it figured out by the time I get there. Additionally, SDSU has its own clinic and a graduate student from SDSU told me that I could get observation hours from the on-campus clinic.
Sorry, I do not think you understood my comment. I did not mean to offend you or anyone reading my post. First off, I am actually Asian myself. I have nothing against my own people; I love Asians. My point was that my current high school is about 40% Asian and UW also has a high percentage of Asians. I guess I may just be looking for a change. It’s great that SDSU has a high population of Mexicans! I am totally fine with that.
Yes, I am aware that I may not get into grad school at SDSU for the SLP program. In fact, if I end up going to SDSU, I do not want to stay at SDSU for grad school. I would prefer to go to SDSU then go to UW for graduate school. If that does not happen, then that is okay. Life happens, and things change. I will just have to work my hardest in school and hope for the best!
