Im interested in becoming a pharmacist.. However, I'm confused on which major to pick. I'm applying to UT Austin. There is a 'pre-pharm' choice on ApplyTexas application. Do I pick that one, or would I be fine with biology as long as I take the required prereqs?

Prepharm is not a major, it is a 2 year curricula that covers admission requirements for pharm school if you do not plan to get a BS. If you are planning on a BS then biochem would be the best choice as it covers almost all the prerequistes in biology and chemistry just be sure and take anatomy, economics and communications as most programs require those.

Job wise though if you don’t end up going to pharm school you will need a nonscience grad degree (accounting or engineering) or a different professional program (physician’s assistant, dental, med, etc) because a BSc in biochem pretty much equals unemployment or endless crappy temp jobs as a lab jerk for $15 to $20 per hour.

sschoe is right, even a Markeing internship gets paid $15/hour…
