Hello, I applied to UChicago, but did not realize financial aid forms were due Nov 21. I assumed this would be information I will get from UChicago later on. What can I do? Does this mean I cannot get any financial aid besides from FAFSA?

From my experiences and those of my friends, the financial aid office is very willing to work with late forms. They are usually very responsive, and I suggest you e-mail them about your situation. Good luck!

Don’t worry, it’ll totally fine! I made the same mistake and submitted mine on December 1st (the deadline for most schools) and emailed UChicago to explain. One line of the response I got was “Financial aid deadlines are really flexible and are more like guidelines than hard deadlines anyways.” So I would email them and submit all the needed information ASAP, but I doubt it’ll be a problem.

Don’t worry, this does not matter if you are a domestic student. Our domestic aid and admissions processes are separate because we are need-blind-- we can fully review your application for admission without aid documents. If you are admitted, you are still eligible to apply for aid and will receive the same aid package you would have gotten had your forms been on time-- we just won’t be able to give you an aid decision with your offer of admission.
