Please Help...It'd mean a lot to me!!

Ok, so I visited Middlebury today. This is like the eleventh college I've visited and up until now I haven't had the "this is it moment." But it happened at Middlebury today. I'm in love. It's just absolutely the right college for me. No doubt. Anyways...I wanna know if you guys think I have any chance there and if there's anything you think I can do to improve my chances.

-Teacher Rec's should be pretty good at least
-essays are alright

If anyone wants to read my essays to evaluate my chances or just comment on them I'd really appreciate it...also if there's anyone out there who's really amazing and wants to read all three of my common app essays and help me decide which one would be best to send to Mid I'd love you forever!!!

PLEASE COMMENT!!

Oh yes, I know exactly what you mean by the "this is it" moment. I think you have a very good shot, especially if you express your sincere desire to come. You can always apply ED, which I would recommend if you love Midd. I don't know how the admissions people view not-very-competitive high schools, but they certainly don't limit themselves to accepting people from only top high schools. Give it a shot, you've got nothing to lose.

Thanks Lindyhopper! The ED thing won't work for me because of financial aid, although I would have loved to apply ED and find out earlier. Any opinions on how I can show them I really want to come like you mentioned??

I'd recommend having an interview if you can. Midd does alumni interviews in your area once they've received your application, or you can come to campus and have an interview. Only about 20% of accepted students have had interviews, so it's not vital, but it certainly shows the extent of your interest.

Anyone else have any opinions of my chances or any ways to improve them? I was thinking about writing a why Middlebury essay but I'm not sure whether the adcoms would like this? I'll do anything...doesn't matter how long or how much effort it would take, I just want to get accepted.

I think you have a great chance at Midd. I wouldn't write a "i love Midd" essay as well....it might not have the desired effect that you want. I would have an interview either on campus or off and this is where I would express your desire to go. Frankly, all schools are looking for yield and if they think they have a "for sure" then, it may put you over the edge. My D is a first year now and we are from a rural area in VT so I would agree, Midd is looking for more than just the kids from NY and BOS suburban schools. Good luck!
