I would talk to the GC about possibly weighing your GPA and putting in on your transcript.

You have this really good ACT score, but your unweighted GPA is going to hurt you. Your ACT is 96th percentile but your GPA drags that down. It might suggest to a school that you score well on tests, but don’t work hard in school (which isn’t the case.)

Since you’re looking for safety schools, those schools haven’t seen your transcript yet, so the GC request might work for those. Explain to your GC that schools often used weighted GPAs for admission and scholarship consideration, so by not weighting grades, the school may be actually hindering their students.

thank you for the advice. hopefullly she can still send them something in the mail still about a weighted gpa. also i was wondering if they take into account what i scored in certain classes. the problem is i have to take latin all four years and i am terrible at it and it has dragged my gpa down significantly. also i am not the best writer, which has hurt me in my literature classes, but my grades in science (except physics, which wasnt bad but not good), math, and history have all been b+ are better generally. its almost impossible to get a 4.0 at our school, since i have been here only one person did. one of my friends got a 2330 on his sat and he doesnt even have a 4.0.

thank you for the advice, but i luckily i got accepted by loyola so i wont be applying anywhere else!

congratulations!!! that’s awesome
