Safety School Help

Hi everyone, I am a high school junior in the middle of the college search process and I am still having some trouble finding the right school for me. My stats are:
GPA:3.4
SAT1
Math: 640
Critical Reading:530
Writing:540

I plan on majoring in Psychology and I am looking for a mid sized school somewhere along the east coast in a suburban/urban environment. My college list so far includes: Pittsburgh, Binghamton, Penn State, and Colorado at Boulder. If anyone can help offer suggestions on schools to check out and a few safety schools for a student with my stats I would greatly appreciate it.

You should check out Michigan State University.

[Michigan State University](http://www.msu.edu/)
[Michigan State University, Department of Psychology](http://psychology.msu.edu/)

Mich State would be a match, not a safety (and it’s not exactly on the East coast).

OP, What is your home state?

MP07

Your profile is very similar to my daughters. Like you, she is looking to major in Psychology and your tests scores and GPA are not that much lower than hers. Our high school counselor gave us a list of the schools with the best Psychology undergraduate programs ranked by selectivity and we are using this as a tool in our search. You may want to check to see if your school has something similar. Most of the schools we have looked at have been LAC’s in the Notheast and Midwest. I am not sure that those stats will get you into Binghampton or Penn State, especially if you are an OSS. Can you give some more specifics as to your home state?

My home state is New York. Other suggestions for match schools would be helpful aswell.
