What would be good safety schools for a 3.8 GPA, 1950 SAT, top 20% class rank, GA student.
Here are the criteria:

Top 120
Div I Athletics (Big East, Big Ten, Big 12, SEC, ACC, Pac-10)
Undergrad business school, accounting program (also prefer one with a Macc program)
Preferably public

I wont be applying until next year, but all the schools on my list are reaches and matches. I just need some safeties to consider. Please and thank you :D

C’mon yall. U know u wanna help me out, right?

Maybe University of Wisconsin, but it is harder for out of state students.Worth checking out though

Why preferably public?

Yeah, I’ve checked them out. It’s just the demographics that kinda bother me. It’s literally 90% Caucasian. I’m not prejudiced, by the way, as a matter of fact I hate racism. I would just like a school with a little more diversity.

hudsonvalley51- because of the tuition rates. IMO if I’m not going to a top 60 school, I (and my parents) would rather not pay 38K tuition. Private schools within the top 60 are OK though.

Private schools can often end up being less expensive than public school due to aid. Out of state schools are very expensive because it is near impossible to get merit aid. I would stop paying attention to rankings, and pay attention to what you actually want in a school. There are a lot of public schools with an undergrad b-school, you should try to narrow down your criteria

Wow. I didn’t know that. Alright then, public/private, I don’t care.
And I think my criteria is pretty narrow.

I believe Rutgers is division I for most sports and has an undergrad business program, I’m not sure which rankings you’re looking for - it varies. IDK what the statistics are for out-of-state students, but as far as NJ students go, it’s a piece of cake to get in.You might be a little iffy on some of the campus areas though, as Camden and Newark are NOT the best areas of NJ. xD It IS a good safety though.

Rutgers…alright, thank you I’ll definitely add that one. And the Div I think is mainly for football (I’ve never been to a college football game, and have always wanted to be in that type of environment). I’ve heard quite a bit about Camden (highest crime rate in US) and Newark (highest carjacking rate in the US), so if I were to go there it would definitely be on the New Brunswick campus.

Any more safety schools?
