Can you please answer my questions in detail? I am very unsure about all of the deadlines…Thanks!

January 2- Is this the deadline for Part 1, 1b, & 2 (mail)? Is this the deadline for Basic Information, Background, Educational History, Family Information, Essays & Activities, and Standardized Testing (online)?

January 10- Is this the deadline for School & Transcript Report, Teacher Recommendations, and Guidance Counselor Recommendations?

January 31- Is this the deadline for SAT II scores? This seems strange because the UVa website says scores will be accepted for the January 26 date but scores don’t come out until mid-February…

February 15- Is the deadline for the Mid-Year Grade Report? Does this only include Senior Year Winter Semester? Does a final high school transcript have to be sent later?

Am I correct in the assumption that additional materials to showcase (CD containing my work in web design and computer graphics) must be postmarked by January 2nd? Would it be better to submit an Online application with my CD mailed or put everything into one package?

Jask:
With all due respect, this information is all available on the UVa website and by reading, carefully and thoroughly, the UVa Application Instructions. You can also find other very helpful information about the UVa application process by reading many of the old posts on Dean J's blog. Dean J is a great lady and a wonderful resource for students interested in applying to the University, but please don't waste her valuable and precious time asking her questions that you could ferret out on your own. Save the unfathomable questions for Dean J.

Thanks for the tip HopefulHoo'sDad. However, I could show you multiple instances where UVa's own site has conflicting information...Also, I called & emailed UVa to try to get answers but they all told me to go to the website...

January 2- Is this the deadline for Part 1, 1b, & 2 (mail)? Is this the deadline for Basic Information, Background, Educational History, Family Information, Essays & Activities, and Standardized Testing (online)?
-----The application is due. All of it.

January 10- Is this the deadline for School & Transcript Report, Teacher Recommendations, and Guidance Counselor Recommendations?
---Says so on the website, doesn't it? yes!

January 31- Is this the deadline for SAT II scores? This seems strange because the UVa website says scores will be accepted for the January 26 date but scores don't come out until mid-February...
----If they say they accept the February scores, then they do. If the other scores are due by 1/31, then they are.

February 15- Is the deadline for the Mid-Year Grade Report? Does this only include Senior Year Winter Semester? Does a final high school transcript have to be sent later?
---Seeming the deadline is "mid-year" grades, and you've only reached the mid-year, doesn't it seem logical that only senior first semester grades are due? And you won't need your final grades until you're accepted

Am I correct in the assumption that additional materials to showcase (CD containing my work in web design and computer graphics) must be postmarked by January 2nd? Would it be better to submit an Online application with my CD mailed or put everything into one package?
-----Does it really matter?

If a deadline of January 31st is listed on the UVa website, please let me know. I believe this was found on the College Board's website and that site is not accurate.

The directions on the application are very clear, in my opinion. Perhaps it would be easiest to open the traditional application and read through the directions there.

Dean J, this is exactly the problem I am having! The link you provided doesn't even mention a January 10th deadline in the timetable yet the UVa website states there is a January 10 deadline for School & Transcript Report, Teacher Recommendations, and Guidance Counselor Recommendations...omg

BTW, I never received a diffinitive answer on when to submit my supplemental materials. Art materials had a Dec 1 deadline but my materials are computer science mostly! Should I postmark it Jan 2 or Jan 10? Please be considerate.

It's because the January 10th deadline is not for you. It's for your guidance counselor. You don't send us your School & Transcript Report. You should have given the form to your counseling office.

What is your supplement? To be honest, if it doesn't fit the parameters of an art supplement, it probably won't be reviewed. The arts faculty review supplements for their specialties. We don't have CS faculty to review supplements. We ask for art supplements to come in December to give faculty a month to review them. If something came in January, they probably wouldn't have it back to us before we reviewed the folder.

There's a chance that an admission officer would put the CD in their computer, but we often read tucked away from our offices so email and phone calls don't interrupt us.
