PLEASE help me decide between two colleges

I am deciding between UT-Austin and UNC-Chapel Hill. I've lived in the Houston area in Texas my entire life and I really don't know which school I should go to so here's a pros/cons list and I really just want opinions on what I should do...

UT
pros:
-Austin is an awesome city. There's always something to do and it has an amazing music scene and party atmosphere
-Greek life is a big deal (I plan on rushing and joining a sorority) and I know it would be soo much fun
-It's only 3 hours away from home so I definitely won't feel homesick.
-it's affordable/about 25k a year
-awesome school spirit and great football

cons:
-not really an actual campus; there's no division between the campus and the city and there aren't any of those nice, grassy quads (which I absolutely love)
-40,000 students is a bit too much for me; I feel like I would be just a number in the crowd
-Texas heat...enough said
-I absolutely love texas but I feel like I should probably go to another part of the country since I've lived here my entire life (except I really do love tx)
-there is no medical school in Austin (I plan on being pre-med) and UT is not known for the sciences/mainly known for business and engineering
-I know sooo many people that go there from high school
-Although Austin is awesome, it doesn't have the best college town vibe (I mean people are supportive of the university but it doesn't dominate the city)

UNC
pros:
-Absolutely gorgeous campus; it has the beautiful quads and architecture that I feel like a college should have
-North Carolina is absolutely beautiful and the beach isn't too far away
-20,000 students is a much better/almost perfect size
-The environment seems like a much better fit for me; although its a large school, it feels like theres more of a community vibe than at UT
-awesome school spirit
-great basketball and sports (but not the best football which is a big thing for a tx native :/ so I guess that part's a con)
-Chapel Hill is a cute little town (great college town) but it's definitely not Austin

cons:
-I love Texas and I feel like I would be so homesick
-out of state tuition/would be a big stretch to pay: 25k initially plus 7k worth of loans (perkins and subsidized), 5k grants, and 2.7k work-study (which I don't know how much of my time that would take up), +travel expenses/cost of living etc.
-I'm not too sure how the Greek life is there/like if there are any crazy parties like UT(and I really want to party lol)
-82% are in-state and I'm worried about how the "extension of high school" feel it might be; it's definitely like that at UT which I don't really like

I also just visited UNC. The one thing I have to say is that the vast majority of students at Carolina love
It. It’s difficult to beat the mix of work and fun at that school.

UT is outstanding in all of the sciences. Certainly as good as UNC.

I’d probably go with UT in this scenario. No need to take on loans.

Go to Texas.

It sounds like your trying to decide about a vacation or party! Get real, when comparing college you choose the school that has the best programs, great professors and job placement and many other important factors. Not the beach or Greek life, try to put that on your resume.

Not sure where you got the idea that UT isn’t good in the sciences.

Everything about your post says UT is the logical choice.

Seems like the thing you should do is go to UT-Austin or maybe visit UNC to try to make this decision a bit easier. UnC won’t be like HS caz its a lot harder to get into than UT-Austin. there will probably be like some people who know each other from in-staters but everybody will want to make new friends. Every college has lots of parties, so if you want to party, you’ll find it in UNC. Eventually everyone (fine most peole) get homesick, the best time to go through it is freshman year of college when others are feeling the same thing as you and freshman year will be fun so you’ll get over this feeling pretty soon. You’ve lived in Texas your whole life and being ~2000 miles away in chapel hill would be a great opportunity for you to mature as a person, meet a whole bunch of new people, and have fun. Life is boring if you never step out of your circle. If this is worth the loans to you, go to UNC.
