I'm a high school junior looking into medicine. Would EMT Certification help me stand out to colleges when I apply next year? The EMT courses are expensive and time-consuming, so although it's something I want to do, I want to be sure it'll help me get secure acceptance at top undergraduate schools (not on its own, of course, but in combination with my gpa, scores, achievements) before making the investment.

It will not help you get in, any more than other rigorous courses would. However, it will make it possible for you to hold a very well-paying part-time job while you are in college, and it will put you on a potentially long-term career track if you should decide that college isn’t for you right now.
