Please help me rank UCSD colleges!

Hi! I’m sorry I know this question has been asked dozens of times but I’m really uncertain. I know the major curriculum/housing/dining difference between the colleges but unsure about the personalities/social life of each.

My intended major is bio. I’m an extroverted but also sorta nerdy person–always down to grab food, but also prefer intellectual conversations over gossip. I’m super driven and I like being around similarly ambitious people. If this matters, I like working in library/study hall more than at home, so I’d like to be close to a large spacious study hall.

Right now I’m leaning Muir because of their easier and less restrictive (I think) GE requirements. 6th seems cool too. What do you guys think? how would you stereotype the personalities of each college? thanks bunches!

Below is a very tongue in cheek personality list for each college but I love to post it (not my list). Muir is a good and popular choice. According to a good friend’s daughter that attend UCSD last year, Sixth has the worst housing.

I would also look at this link to compare the colleges: http://provost.ucsd.edu/colleges/compare.html

UCSD college personalities:
Revelle:

  • tryhards and nerds
  • GEs way too hard
  • lotta international students
  • smarter than Muir

Muir:

  • hippie environmentalists
  • too much spirit
  • looks like a prison
  • dumber than Revelle

Marshall:

  • social justice warriors
  • diversity or something
  • they don’t have to take DEI

Warren:

  • engineers
  • smells like engineers
  • food tastes like it was cooked by engineers
  • cool bear tho

ERC:

  • hot and spirited people
  • fit bc they walk a mile to get anywhere
  • GEs way way too hard
  • parties

Sixth:

  • there are no people here
  • sixth is completely inhabited by raccoons

This is super helpful (and pretty funny), thanks so much for the information

I am a UCSD student pick, Muir

My major is Neurobiology, Muir has the Biology, Math, and Physics department so a lot of the classes for those subjects are there.

Muir is the perfect distance from everything (10 minutes from about everywhere on campus)

Sixth is getting a new building in like two years, so that’s cool.

I’m lazy but Warren and Sixth are downhill which would make going to class so tiring.

You also might not get into Muir cause its the hardest college to get into on campus, (make it your first choice), but most students regret not picking Muir.
