I'm going to a CC next fall, and I want to finish CC in one year then go to a UC
any successful one year transfer story?
I have a question: Do ap credits count toward the 60 credits requirement? does it count toward major requirement? if so, how much credits for AP Human Geo, Chem, Bio, World History, and and Chinese considering all the score are 4 and above?
I'm going to take summer classes as well as winter classes, is it possible with AP credits to finish CC in one year?
thanks in advance~!

For an AP test I took back in junior year, I received a 3 on the exam and got 5.44 units. Assuming each of those 4 tests you took is roughly 5 units , you’d get at least 20 units from AP courses, so you’d have a remaining 40 units. If you take a couple courses in the summer (6-8 units) you’d have 32 units to split between fall/spring semesters. This is very much doable and as long as you keep the grades up you should be good to go in a year’s time.

Keep in mind, the 5 units I listed for each AP course is just to be on the safe side. So from a safe side perspective, you should be very much able to transfer in one year.

ahh… thanks! if I want to get into medical school, is it a safe path?

Taking 1 year vs 2 years at CC will not make a difference in going on to medical school. In the one year you do spend, make sure to take at least a few of the sciences you will need to apply for the major of your choice. Whatever you don’t do at the CC you will finish up at the UC.

It seems like you may be able to make it in a year. Seek out opportunities to shadow and volunteer in order to improve your potential future application and verify to yourself that med school is indeed what you want.
