bump...thanks to all who have helped so far

in addition, my class rank is at the 50th percentile, would that help me or hurt me? my high school is among the top 200 high schools in America

i'm not an expert but form what i've heard and read, (i live in texas btw), texas a&m is amazing! go on wikipedia and check the rankings for its engineering schools
or just google top engineering schools or something
you could probably also check the rankings at princeton review or something

^lol. I think he meant where was it on the OP's list. It should be there, though. Tech's like #5 or something in Civil and his grades/scores are probably good enough to get him in.

There are LOTS of schools you could look at. Are you looking just at the East Coast? If not, what about places like Michigan, Illinois, Purdue, UCSB, UCSD, Texas-Austin.....

Yeah, I agree with boneh3ad there on Illinois. I think you can get in with your standardized test scores. That's a really really good engineering school and it is currently #1 for Civil Engineering according to U.S. News. I've heard tons of great things about UT-Austin as well.
