I am planning on going to a good science/math school such as Duke after high school. I am currently a sophomore and I got a B+ in Algebra II Honors. Do you think colleges will look at this and consider me to be somewhat bad in math? If I get As in Pre-Calculus Honors next year, will I make up for this B?

Also, if I get 70+ on PSAT Math and 700+ on the SAT Math, do you think colleges will realize that I really am good at math?

This shouldn't really negatively affect you. Your test scores are evidence enough; they'll be able to tell from your school that maybe your class is hard or something. Don't even worry. I can assure you that my difficulties in math are far greater than yours. :)

what colleges will realize is your upward trend in progression, which is a good thing. Keep working hard and stay focus, don't forget to have fun while you are at it.:-)

Lol... I did the same thing. I got a B+ in Algebra 2/Trigonometry in my sophomore year. My first B... Don't worry about it. Everyone needs a blotch on their permanent record. Do you want to be seen as an automaton getting straight A's or a guy that can chill out once in a while? Also, a B may show that your school is not grade inflated.

College is not really about stats anymore, it's more of what impact your application can have...
