Hello all,
I am in a strange situation. I am pretty “smart” but wasted my T10 university education (I drifted about and stayed in school for 3 and a half years without focus or direction)… Now it is time to build up my life. I have decided to study mechanical engineering.
My current T10 university GPA is 2.6. I completed all science and math lower division courses (chem, physics, linear algebra, diff eq., calc.) I hope to leverage my SAT score of 2200+ and my current institution’s prestige into acceptance into a lower-ranked ABET accredited mechanical engineering program.
My hopes for the school are: beautiful natural setting (this is most important… almost a requirement for me), not too fratty (I’m weird). Engineering scene would be nice. cheap tuition obviously would be nice. maybe a smaller school.
My requirements for the school are: no unit cap for acceptance (I have like 170 units already), late application due date (I would like to start this fall), pretty high acceptance rate (I assume my gpa makes this necessary), ABET mechanical engineering program.
My current list of potential schools:
Montana State University
University of Wyoming, Laramie
University of Wisconsin, Madison
University of Idaho
University of Alaska Fairbanks
University of Colorado, Boulder
Now, my list was simply compiled from perusing “good nature schools” articles and picking out the ABET mech-e programs. So, I am eager to hear from some people who actually have personal recommendations! If anyone has heard of any schools that you think might be what I’m looking for, I’d really appreciate it! Any thoughts, offhand remarks, insults, compliments, confessions of love or otherwise, please don’t hesitate to share!
Thank you (sincerely),
ya boy
