I was accepted to Yale, Stanford, and Duke but I seem to like them all about the same. I havent visited Yale and Stanford but I have seen Duke and I loved it. I enjoy the close college community and the wide campus. I also would like to have a laid back student body that isnt too stressful. My potential major is history and maybe classics. I plan to go to law school after. Will all these schools give me about the same placement in law school? What do you guys think of my choices and what would you recommend? Please list some pros and cons for me. Thank you so much.

any ideas?????

Stanford had that laid back, not-too-stressful feel in my opinion. I haven't seen Yale or Duke, though. :P

I personally would pick Stanford or Yale for the law-school hopeful because both schools have nationally acclaimed mock trial teams (which is the only EC that is mentioned in the law school books I've read by name as being beneficial -- imagine what it'd do to be on a team competing at the national level).

Also, Yale Law is one of, if not the best Law School in the country, las I heard, so going Yale undergrad might increase your chances. Don't have exact stats on Yale's feeder schools though.

If there's anyway at all, you need to go and see them Often they will pay for the visits of aid students, a good friend has had this done by Yale this year. When you've seen them all you'll know where you fit best.

haha i have a friend at stanford and she cries about too much homework when she comes home for winter break. she was ranked 1st with a 1550 sat and she never even cared about homework.

Stanmaster, that's a nice list to choose from. Which do you like the best geographically? Is there a financial difference, or would all cost about the same? They are all tops- go where you want to go. Don't worry too much about any minor differences they may have in law school admissions chances.

I didnt get financial aid from any of my schools so money is not an issue. I went to a Yale info session tonight and I realized I loved the school. I think I made my decision and it will be finalized at bulldog days

Great. I was hoping that you would choose Yale but didn't want to say anything.

its time to duke it out between yale and stanford :P ( sorry for the pun)

yale

i think im pretty much decided on yale, but why do you say yale?

yale and stanford is a toss up. They are both great. If you are really into the residential college thing, which is a great feature, go to Yale. Also keep in mind they do not have a core while Stanford does.

If you want laidback, Stanford is really the way to go. The weather is nice and the campus is beautiful. And you can't deny it: "chill" in Northeastern Ivy Land is stressed out like crazy compared to "chill" in Northern California.

Have I mentioned that I'm jealous. um..yeah.

and forget duke. snobby, greeky, elitist social life from what i hear and definitely not as good of academics
