Okay, this isn't for me, but for my friend. I'm very worried for him because he's a really great guy.

This past week for April Fool's day, he hacked into our school district's intercom system and played some song for 15 seconds. Everyone thought it was pretty harmless, and all in good fun, but our school administration thought otherwise.

Apparently, it's a federal offense to hack into a system like this. They told him that they will notify all the school's he got into (UCLA and UCB). What's going to happen?? Will UC's take this very seriously and rescind his admission??

Crimes are not a reason for rescinding admission, according to the contract. As long as he still graduates and maintains his 3.0 UW, he's fine.

Mind if I ask what song was he playing? I've heard of school rickrollings (Wikipedia it)... :D

bartleby is right. unless there is some hidden loophole.

If I was UCB admissions officer, I would be quite pleased to accept such a talented student.

I think your friend goes to my school hehe
did he do that during 4th period? :p

I would imagine they care about felonies, but if the crime is like a misdemeanor...shouldn't matter...

EECS major, I'm guessing? ;)

Where can I find that contract you guys are talking about? Thanks for the replies; I really hope I can help my friend by figuring this out somehow.

Send letter of apology to schools he wants to attend.

Your friend can find this contract on the 'checklist' of the Berkeley admissions website where you log in to find out if you have been accepted in the first place.
