DD has a composite 31 from her last ACT test, but her English score on the first test is 30 and more respectable than the 27 on the last test. This section gives her a superscore of 32. Math and Science are significantly higher on her second test. Reading is basically the same. So the only good thing about the first test is the English. Anyway, should we send both tests? Also, has anyone done this? It doesn’t seem that intuitive.
One of her schools she’d be fine with the 31, but the others I think she could use the 32.
DD’s SAT score is lower than her superscore, so we’re not even sending this.
Edit: She’s at the upper end of the range for the other 2 schools. At the moment I think we’ll just send the good test. Please comment if you think otherwise. DD would be OOS for these schools, so I dont know if that would make a difference…
Read the admission requirements for each college. Many will superscore, so you might want to send both. Others take the best overall score from one sitting.
As to how to send both tests, it actually requires two separate orders per college (and thus two fees) since ACT sends only one test per order to any college, unlike the SAT which will send all tests in one order.
As to what to send, if you can afford to send both, do so. If the college superscores younwill have the 32; even if it does not superscore, it may use the one with the highest composite but gived some consideration to a higher score form another test. Colleges uniformily claim they do not use lower scores against you and thus sending both doe snot have a downside. Nevertheless before sending both check carefully what the college requires. There are a number now that allow you to just self-report scores in the application (and then send offical scores after you are admitted to verify what you provided).
