PLEASE HELP! Teacher Letter of Rec question!

I have a specific question on which teacher would be better of a letter of recommendation... Should I ask my freshman year AP Human Geography teacher or my sophomore year AP European History teacher? I did well in both classes and got 5s on the AP tests for both.

I've kept in touch with my freshman AP Human Geography teacher throughout my high school years and thus she knows me personally a lot better. She's an adviser for Youth and Gov this year on the legislature side (which I joined this year also, as a legislator). She also wrote me a letter of rec when I applied to USC's RHP program last year, which I was accepted into (but ultimately didn't go due to financial concerns). However, again, she was my freshman year teacher, and many colleges want only/prefer 10th-12th grade teachers.

On the other hand, I had my AP Euro teacher for just AP Euro, and we haven't really kept in touch. I didn't talk a lot in his class (though I have to say that when I did, it was usually something worthwhile) but I did very well on the finals (particularly the second-semester final project) and in the class in general. I'm confident that he would definitely be able to write a pretty solid letter of recommendation (as in, he's a really good writer and I've heard that a lot of people ask him for a letter of rec), but I don't know how personal it would be for me. I'm pretty sure he recognizes me (he said hello after AP tests at the end of junior year, though we don't say hi in the hallways at all now), but I don't know how well he knows me personally/as a student. Would it be better if I included some papers/projects that I did in his class and a comprehensive resume with my grades, scores, goals, strengths as a student/person, e.c.'s, etc.?

Anyways, given all of the above, which teacher would be better to ask for a letter of recommendation? Or should I ask both....?

Thanks in advance!

bump… anyone?

I would ask your H Geo teacher. Even though you had her in 9th grade she does know you best since you have kept in touch.

I have a 9th grade science teacher I’m planning on asking next year to write my recommendation. I talk to her often about my homework in other science classes and she is the advisor of a couple of the clubs I’m in - both as a member and as an officer.

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it!

Human geography, since you’ve kept in touch with her and she knows you. But if this is for applying to colleges, why do you not have options from your junior year? Even sophomore year tends to be early to get recs from.
