Please help this is my #1 choice

I have a 1750 sat 3.8 gpa (weighted)
Took AP Bio AP French AP world history AP government AP english

I have a lot of extracurriculars and my essay is strong. I’m out of state. I’m a junior. Should I apply early? Or does it matter? I plan on retaking sat and taking the act. I know I can do better. What kind of things helps out of state students

My D will be a freshman next year, and we are also out of state. USC has been her first choice for as long as I can remember. She did apply early and she is so happy that she did. She was able to enjoy her senior year. If it’s any help my D was slightly higher and received the Woodrow Scholarship, so I think you should be in pretty good shape. Although it varies year to year depending on the applicants… If it’s definitely your first choice, I know my D would say early is the way to go. Good luck!

What is your CR+M? That’s all USC looks at with SATs. Look on Admissions site and find (or search for) Money Matters. It shows the available merit scholarships and what the average stats were for the prior year. It’s not hard and fast number, but it will give you an idea about how much you might get and what you might want to shoot for if you retake. For an OOS student, it’s great to get one of the scholarships that waives or reduces OOS tuition.

Be sure and chat with admissions counselor about your GPA. I think USC recalculates and may weight it differently than your school does. It would be good information. There is no down side to applying early since it is not binding. However housing priority is based on application date so for that reason alone, earlier is better. You will have an answer by mid December with EA which is nice.

Admissions counselor? At usc?? And crm is 1200. My school is known for being a good school as well. When I visited the admissions person knew about the school already. I’m just worried the acceptance will drop this upcoming year. Also mine is on 5 point scale where honors A is 4.5 and AP A is 5

FYI Even though you will have an AP French score, in order to get college credit for a foreign language you will have to take USC’s placement test given just before school starts. A high enough score will allow you to get credit/no grade for the language. You can also opt to continue the test to place into a higher level if you want to actually take a French class at USC.
