I'm currently following the IGETC program and I'm going to apply to transfer to a UC after I complete the general education requirement (after summer semester). If they accept my application I should be able to transfer in Winter ( Starting in January?)
BUT, I'm having a BIG problem here. I must complete English 205 in order to fulfill the IGETC requirement for transferring. However i just realized how horrible and unorganized the professor I'm currently with is. I mean, there's ABSOLTELT NO WAY i can get an A ( not even a C i think!) in this class. The way he arranges the course is soooooo horrible that I was told that most of the students he had ended up getting miserable grades and were tortured by this prof.
My GPA just barely reaches the transfer requirement and I MUST get straight A's in order to transfer. And this class will undoubtedly drag my GPA down!!
There's no more open ENG205 classes left right now so I can't switch to another one.
I was wondering if there's any way I can drop the class this semester, take it in Fall 09 and still be able to tranfer in Winter ( coming January..)???
Please help!

I would definitely drop the class & take it w/ another professor… What UC are you trying to transfer to? Most UC’s only allow Fall transfers.

Try to spread your ideas out more. Reading a block of text just sucks.

That said, if you are not going to pass the course, drop it and take the W. You can only enter a UC in the Fall (usually) so I think you can just take the English course another quarter.

quoting from my other post -_-

office hours.

Meet with the prof and tell him your situation and express interest in learning exactly what you need to do to get an A.
