well I was currently taking 14 credits but I just failed my calc 2 exam and I have lost all hope in that class. I am doing great and all my class except for this 1. I am seriously thinking of withdrawing from the class(4 credits) and take it next semester. Will that effect my renewal for next year even though I would have the GPA for renewal ?

also how will it affect my financial aid?

This will also be the first time I have ever drop withdraw from a class. I have earned 45 hours and a cumulative of 59 hours so far.

Federal financial aid has a requirement that you complete cumulatively 75% of attempted courses. If this is your 1st semester dropping 4 out of 14 credits would take you below 75%. Most schools will let you keep your aid for a semester on a probationary basis meaning you would have to meet certain requirements that semester or lose it the next. Ask your financial aid office.

edit: xposted with you - if you have earned 45 out of 45 attempted then it should not affect federal aid. Check with your financial aid office that dropping below full time will not cause a problem.

I am on my 5th semester and this would be the very first time I have had to withdraw from a class, I am planning on asking them as soon as this week.

Florida Student Scholarship and Grant Programs

Sounds like Bright Futures requires only 6 hours per semester so you s/b ok. Double check with your financial aid office.

Thanks alot, I really appreciate it.
